About

The Bristol Green Open Doors weekend will enable residents across the city to find out more about energy saving measures and retrofit directly from people who have undertaken improvements at home. The aim is to show real life examples of energy saving and energy generation measures at home and provoke useful conversations on retrofit.

We are aiming to open 10 different homes in different  parts of Bristol with examples of:

  • Air Source Heat Pumps
  • Battery Storage
  • Draught Proofing
  • External Wall Insulation
  • Internal Wall Insulation
  • Low cost DIY measures
  • Replacement Windows / Doors
  • Underfloor insulation
  • Solar PV Panels
  • Self Build

Open Homes is being led by Bristol Energy Network in Bristol as part of the West of England LEAD project. It’s all about bringing home energy advice to people who might not have thought about improving their homes before. LEAD is funded by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, via the South West Net Zero Hub. You can find out more about the project by visiting: https://www.cse.org.uk/my-community/community-projects/west-of-england-local-energy-advice-demonstrator-lead/
